Ariel Baluyut, CCC

His culinary career began 30 years ago, in 1988, when he enrolled at NAIT’s Commercial Cooking Program. He spent his early culinary career working for various restaurants around Edmonton. After graduation, he had the opportunity to work at the Mayfield Inn and Suites, a high-volume entertainment conference and banquet facility. He started as an apprentice cook and worked his way up from dining room chef, to the banquet chef, and then to an executive sous chef, under the training of Executive Chef Joe Kennedy, CCC. Also, during this time, Chef Ariel received his Certified Chef de Cuisine (CCC).

After 15 years at the Mayfield Inn and Suites, Chef Ariel accepted the position as the Executive Chef at The Glendale Golf and Country Club to oversee all kitchen operational areas, and to provide high quality food and service for the members and guest in all areas of kitchen production and maintaining cost effectively. During his time at the Glendale, he ran all the food preparations for big events like golf tournaments for the members, outside events, and weddings. One example would be the Oil & Country PGA Tournament.

After giving 11 years of his service to the Glendale Golf and Country Club, he gladly accepted the position of Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager at Ashbourne Garneau United Assisted Living in June 2016. During his spare time, he likes to play golf, going to hockey games with his friends, and spending time with his two loving daughters and with his family.
